i am planning to buy some stuff like fragrances, cds/dvds,beauty appliances, etc. online. i stay in kuwait and i m not sure whether i will receive shipment of orders placed here. i would buy from trusted sites who provide international shipping on orders just want to confirm if anyone here has ordered and received products through online shopping on international sites.

Lived in Kuwait for three years and then in Dubai for 10 years. There are 4 ways to get goods sent to you:
1: Have your items shipped to a friend or relative in the US who can then send them on to you by Fedex /DHL / UPS etc. The goods will arrive safely within 3-4 days.

2: Verify that the company you are buying from is familiar with shipment to the Middle East, and have them sent direct from this company,otherwise your goods will be held up in customs forever, and you will only receive them on payment of import duty which I found was determined by how much you were willing to pay.

3: Open a personal account with one of the above mentioned courier companies. This costs nothing, and you can then give the company from whom you are ordering the goods your account number, and they will send it you, and debit your account.

A word of advice..never send it out by mail. Although the issuing postal system may be efficient, the Kuwait service not. I never received an item of mail in my letter box while I was there!
